SPOILERS

IF YOU CLICK THIS BEFORE WATCHING GOTHAM KNIGHT,  I WILL FUCKING CUT YOU.

So like.

There was a void in my heart ever since JLU finished and Bruce Timm and Paul Dini broke up.

BUT NOT ANYMORE

Gotham Knight? Is absolutely perfect. I had my doubts about how good the storytelling would be since it was done in anime style BUT BRUCE TIMM DIDN'T LET ME DOWN.

Have I got a Story for You!

This one reminds me a lot of the Batman Black and White stuff and it's pretty much a Rashomon take on the Bat mythos and persona in Gotham. I loved the architecture though and I like the three personas covered in that story; the animal-bat, the living shadow and the robot.

I kinda love Robot  Batman. I want him to cameo in the Terminator one day. He'd give Arnold a run for his money.

Crossfire

This was like. HARVEY BULLOCK'S LIFE STORY. Does anyone remember Harvey Bullock? Big guy, hated Batman's guts, attention whore extraordinaire but all  in all, a good cop. Here, we had Allen and his partner Anna. Allen kinda hates Batman 'cause he's a vigilante. Everyone else pretty much lols at him.

aldhaldahsldhas JESuS CHRIST THEY TURNED ARHAM INTO AN ISLAND. I-It's so creepy ;o;

I-I love the gangway between the Russian and the Italian. They really amuse me.

Field Test

FUCK YES LUCIUS FOX!!!!!

O rite and bishounen!Bruce is my god. sohot.

I like how everyone was PRETTY in this one. OMG RANDOM GUY WHO GOT SHOT---he's really pretty.

Also I love how PETTY Bruce is. He sucks at golf, so he made the other guy's golf club fly in the air. lol bruce.

In Darkness Dwells

"Are you in pain"

"I work through pain"

Dialogue. Win.

Working through Pain

This. This was my favourite part. I really started crying at this one. It took place in India and it's about how Bruce copes with pain (mostly the physical kind) and his teacher, Cassandra. It's told in a mesh of flashbacks and present time as Bruce stumbles through the sewers, wounded and tired.

What broke my heart was the last bit where Alfred comes to fetch him.

Alfred says, "Sir, take my hand."

And poor Batman, his hands full of guns he found in the sewers, just gives Alfred this broken look and whispers, "I can't."

I really did start crying.

Deadshot

LOL DEADSHOT LOL

U R SUCH A PIMP.

But mosquito skewering was pretty cool.

All in all, I'd like to say, BRUCE TIMM NEVER LEAVE ME ;o;
  • Current Mood: accomplished accomplished
. . . I'm not reading it because my eyes glazed at the length, so aha! But! Is it like the anime of the Matrix with different styles for each piece or consistent animation? Perhaps even interlocking stories?
It's like the animatrix with different styles, but all the stories are connected and flow very nicely.
I didn't get to see it at AX because it was completely full damnit :(
HOW PIMP IS DEADSHOT. SERIOUSLY.

Also Scott Menville doing the voice of a street punk? Hilarious.

I also loved: "I'm losing a lot of blood." "Well then I'll bring some extra, sir"
DEADSHOT IS SUCH A PIMP I-I was so amused.

That's another one of my favourite lines. God, I love Alfred.
I think the animators did the robot Batman mainly for giggles. Living shadow Batman was my fave.

OMG. Arkham was CREEPY. But it was a cool kind of creepy! "The people you see here are NOT residents, they're inmates" O.O My bf and I lol'ed when the Russians and Italians started shooting at each other WITH NO REGARD FOR THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE WHATSOEVER. Ahaha Allen.

"Working Through the Pain" OWNS MY SOOOUUUULL. My friend and I agree it's the best vignette of them all.

But Deadshot was pretty awesome too.
