Prompt - "A love for you/Will break my heart"
Fandom - Pandora Hearts
Pairing - Oz/Gil
This was how it was supposed to be.
It was like Oz was slipping past every crevice, filling every crack with his breath, his presence clinging to him like a fragrance long-forgotten (dim, dim, in his mind, it fits a corner unhindered by walls and locks). Oz's hand were curled around his neck, any tighter and Oz would crush his throat. Those hands, however, just silently drummed against his neck in a whimsical tune. Oz hummed it to himself and Gil felt lost. But this is how it was supposed to be; his life was in Oz's hand, in those fingers, ready to squeeze his breath out in short, succinct gasps.
He waits for it, waits for the inevitable, "You betrayed me, you left me, you took ten years to save me, why, where were you when I needed you the most?"
But it does not come. Oz's eyes remained hidden under his messy hair and Gil resists the urge to push the hair off, to see those eyes staring him down. The hands slip downwards, with a calm precision and unbutton his shirt. In its glory, the scar glistens like a sliver of pain in the dark. Oz whispers something (he can't catch the words) and trails a finger down the spine of the wound.
He finally reaches out to place a hand on Oz's cheek and leaves it there. He tries to say something, but the words are too faint, too weak for any kind of reassurance. He simply rubs Oz's cheek lightly as if erasing the invisible tears on his face. Oz's hand leave his chest and overlay the hand on the cheek.
He still can't see those eyes, but they see him. And that is how it's supposed to be.
